How you study

How will I learn?

You will learn online using our bespoke online portal that’s intuitive and easy to use – just log on and learn.

You can access the portal from any device with internet access (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone), meaning you can study from anywhere – even while you’re on the move.

The portal will provide you with information about accessing support and opportunities to network with other students. It will also show each of the modules you’re enrolled in or have completed to date.

You will receive a comprehensive induction session where you can take the time to familiarise yourself with the portal prior to your studies.

Can I complete my studies entirely online?

Yes. The course is delivered 100% online, and is designed so that you can manage your studies alongside your professional and personal commitments.

How many hours a week will I study?

This is a rigorous and demanding online course. You will therefore need to allocate sufficient time in your schedule to allow for viewing video lectures, completing learning activities, contributing to online discussions, communicating with your online tutors and independent study.

The precise amount of time you will need to allocate to your studies will vary depending on your existing knowledge and the topic at-hand. But, in a typical week, you might study for between 10 and 20 hours.

What type of equipment/software will I need?

You must have regular access to a computer (or mobile device) with an internet connection.

Do I need to purchase any textbooks?

No. The core readings and further resources you will need are available through our online library portal.

The method of programme delivery, whether it’s on-campus or online, is not mentioned on any degree certificate awarded by Bayes Business School (formerly Cass).

Does the degree carry the same academic weight as a campus-based master’s?

Yes. Our online courses are equivalent to our campus-based programmes in every way.

As an online student, you’ll be taught by the same world-renowned faculty that deliver our full range of programmes and receive the same levels of academic and practical support that helped build our reputation as one of the world’s leading business schools.

Will my degree be recognised by employers?

Yes. Our Triple Crown accreditation means that your degree will be recognised by organisations across the world as a qualification of exceptional merit.

Do I need to attend lessons or exams in London?

MSc Global Finance students don’t need to attend our campus in London at any point during the course. All assessments are completed via our online learning platform.

The Global MBA is a part-time blended programme, which means that while core modules and most elective modules are taught online; students will need to join us on campus for the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme, the Integration Week and some additional electives.

Can I use the Business School's facilities?
