Global Economic and Social Challenges
In this module, you’ll examine how corporations are responding to current economic and social challenges.
You’ll gain a practical understanding of the tools and language used by economists to analyse the functioning of economies and networks of economies as a whole (macroeconomics). You’ll also develop an appreciation of the relevance to business of economic thinking, and discuss the most recent news about the economy and high-level policies.
In addition, you’ll engage with the social aspects surrounding organisations and their environment – in particular, corporate social responsibility (CSR). CSR has become a key issue in the private, public and third sectors as a result of changes in national and company laws, political and social change, environmental impacts, and the introduction of cultural and ethical values.
